Amphitheatre for the Wadden Sea
The 900 metre-long dyke in Den Oever no longer meets the statutory safety requirements. In 2012 Knevel Architecten was commissioned by the Hollands Noorderkwartier Water Board to draw up Spatial Integration Guidelines for the reinforcement of the dyke.
The dyke is to be raised by a maximum of one and a half metres and a verge is to be created at the port site. The embankment on the port side will be stepped in order to slow down the waves. It is to be used as a stand during events and for the everyday experiencing of the port area.
