Selected to participate in a design research by BNA
In a team with DS Landschapsarchitecten, Lighting Artist Paul Baartmans and Groen Licht Verkeersadviezen, Knevel Architecten has been selected as one of 10 from 19 teams to do a design study for the BNA ' Transit Oriented Development ' - opportunities for the Zaancorridor.
Transit Oriented Development ( TOD ) is a new strategy for regional planning and is based on the combination of infrastructure and spatial development . The Zaan Corridor consists of a series of villages and towns between Amsterdam and Heerhugowaard , with associated roads, railways, public transportation nodes, residential building sites , old town centers , industrial areas and nature areas and offers a major challenge, as there are many inhabitants who work elsewhere.
Because there are great opportunities for architects in the field of infrastructure, the Community of Practice Infrastructure of BNA Research set up a project in which the design strength of architects is used to develop a fresh look at a number of nodes. The others selected teams are : Architectuurstudio HH, Venhoeven CS, NUNC architecten, M3H, Zwarts & Jansma architecten, XVW architectuur, korth tielens architecten, Gedachtegoederen en Architectenbureau Micha de Haas.
