Knevel Architecten recognises the communal importance of designing and building. Changing or realising buildings has a bearing upon the direct surroundings and therefore represents an intervention in areas which are often living and working environments.
It is care about how we exploit finite resources which drives our choice for recyclable materials and leads to buildings and chains which are both intelligent and low in their energy use.
Realising architecture is a process encompassing aesthetic, spatial, functional, technical and material considerations; a process which leads to a building displaying a range of core concepts and principles, all of which need to lend support to its function.
In addition, other aspects will invariably exert their influence on the design development. These include costs, building and planning regulations and, by no means least, the level and breadth of the client’s ambitions.
