design
Starting point for the parcellation of the business park is to give every user a prominent spot next to the highway A28 and the connecting street ‘de Melkrijder’. Qualitative and a multifunctional appearance will be created through specific facade expression, which can be formal, functional or commercial and expresses the image of individual users. This creates an urban structure in linear strips, which clearly define the contours of the planning area.
The formulation of planning regulations results in a model that can be seen as a perimeter block with a courtyard. The courtyard will be informal unlike the outside borders of the project to accommodate parking, a loading and unloading zone and a green semi-public infill.

The assignment concerns a sketch design of an urban plan for the business area Watergoor in Nijkerk, the Netherlands. For this area a brief program was prescribed which consists of: companies, offices, warehouses, parking and green space.
location
Business area Watergoor in Nijkerk is located on the North West side of Nijkerk. This area, which has a rectangular shape, is surrounded by different functions. On the North side another business / industrial district, Arkervaart, is located and on the west side the highway A28 is located, which makes Watergoor a special visible location.
