The concept of the neighbourhood is a social approach of the city, where organic coherence between city and individuals take a central position.

For CWL property management a study is done to explore the possibilities of developing the standard program of a primary care center into a stamp which easily can be applied on different locations and villages.
The program is translated into a relation scheme which provides insight into the relations between the different functions and the relations between the surrounding environment.
In addition, a research has been done to explore the intertwining of the building with its area as well as the intertwining of the different functions within the building. What are the architectural possibilities to embed a care center into its surrounding? Based on this research a few models are developed with each its own degree of openness compared the surrounding district.
To increase the possibility of implementing the stamp, different models were studied varying from a compact square shape to linear and stacked deformations.
The members of Team 10 formulated the idea of the neighbourhood and were mainly interested in the hierarchy (area, neighbourhood, district). This hierarchical division in urban environment could also work as a division in social coherence. To illustrate this, Team 10 introduced ‘a scale of association’, with this they meant: A scale that indicates the intensity and complexity of the interaction between the people and their environment.
