BUVA OFFICES AND ASSEMBLY HALL
new development in Barendrecht
location
The project is located in the Vaanpark business park, part of the new development Carnisselande/Portland, which is clearly visible from the A29 and A15 motorways.
The initial design phase of the programme set out to address the circulation and the work as it takes place within the building. This can be retraced in the ‘stretching out’ of the general and technical services programme parallel to the motorway and with orientating the activities of loading and offloading goods along the secondary access road at right angles with the A29 motorway.

assignment
The assignment was for a new build for ‘BUVA rational building products’. The project is a total assignment in three phases for a assembly hall and offices.

design
Het ontwerp heeft als uitgangspunt om de twee verschillende werelden van fabriek en kantoor op een duidelijke en directe manier met elkaar te verbinden.

The design for the second phase added office space to the existing production hall and offices. On the first floor, the ribbon accommodating the general and technical services was extended through the new office volume as an independent element. The enlargement was also used for extending the canteen facilities. The central entrance has been located where the canteen zone and the office meet. A void spatially links the entrance, showroom and canteen.
