design
Knevel Architecten designed a programme-based core that forms the backbone for the 520 m2 of office space. Functions such as the emergency stairwell, cloakroom, storeroom, printer room, pantry and kitchen are housed in this core which has been designed as a solid element with gold alcoves. The core also contains useful spaces such as two quiet rooms, the lobby and an informal workplace in the form of a picnic table. So the core is not only the functional backbone of the office but also a spatial connecting element.

commission
The commission was to create a new work environment for fast-growing company ICTRecht. The challenge was to design an interior with character while respecting the restrictions on a leased office space. The office space is situated on the third floor of Huys Azië on Piet Heinkade in Amsterdam: the floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the IJ.
